This rural town is also home of the Toro Amarillo Waterfall, one of the most scenic cataract in Costa Rica. Your drive will take you up to Palmira, where plantations of potatoes, cabbage and pasture fields blend in the natural forest to offer some of Costa Rica’s most scenic views. After a short walk in the rainforest where several species of trees, plants and flowers can be seen, you will start the descent to the bottom of the waterfall by going down for approximately 400 steps.

Toro Amarillo Water fall is the biggest waterfall in Costa Rica and second one in beauty and splendor. Look-out stations are strategically located on the property to offer you stunning views, while hiking down enjoy the rock formations of this ancient volcanic crater, its colors and textures, and the feel of special chemical composition of the water will make one of the most amazing encounters with nature. After visiting the waterfall you will continue to the village of Bajos del Toro, where you will enjoy a delicious lunch in a local and very authentic eatery. After lunch, the tour will continue the way back to Chayote Lodge visiting a farm on the way and learning about the plantation process of different crops.
